Transfer of Benefits
You have a statutory right to transfer your M Plan pension benefits to another registered pension scheme, for example, a new employer or an insurance company.
The amount available for transfer would be the value of your Retirement Account, plus any AVCs you may have invested with Friends Provident at the date the transfer is made.
You can request a Transfer Value certificate and other relevant information from your Pensions Officer.
The Trustee reserves the right to provide you with only one Transfer Value certificate in any twelve month period.
You should seek financial advice about transferring your benefits but IBM Pensions Trust staff are unable to advise you. If you don't have a financial adviser, you can find the names of advisers close to you here.
