The amount of any increase to your IBM pension is based on the Office for National Statistics’ recorded Retail Price Index (RPI) figure each September before an increase is awarded the following April.

In September 2009, RPI was negative for the seventh month in succession and was recorded at -1.4%.  The amount of your IBM pension will not be adversely affected by the negative inflation figure and will remain unchanged during the 2010/11 fiscal year.
