Guaranteed Minimum Pension 2010
If you are in receipt of your State Pension, increases to any Guaranteed Minimum Pension (GMP) are based on the September RPI figure which was a negative amount (-1.4%) in 2009.
In April 2010, there will be no increases to any GMP that you have earned. This includes increases on GMP earned between April 1978 and April 1988, which is the responsibility of the State and on service between April 1988 and April 1997, which is the responsibility of your IBM Plan (up to a maximum of 3%).
Special arrangements have been announced by the Government to award increases to any Basic State Pension that you are in receipt of.
